Country Girl At Heart

I live in the city but long for the country. I wish for a ranch house on acres of land where I could have as many dogs and animals as legally allowed. I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. I currently have two dogs, Dingo and Buddy, but I've loved dogs my entire life. The love affair began when my dad brought home my first puppy when I was five. His name was Hondu or Hondi, for short. Ok, so it's not any shorter, but you get the picture. Not sure where that name came from, but it was Kentucky and my family was "different", so I've made peace with it. 

Here I am in Kentucky with my Grandpa Ben. I was only six months old and already had a dog (Sandy) by my side. 

 

Ultimately,  this blog is simply an excuse for me to meet dogs.  Whether it's in person or via the web, I get to follow my passion and talk about, look at and share stories with other dog lovers out there. 

Of course, I have a soft spot for rescues, especially for what I call Oldtimers, and they are featured prominently here and they always will be. I strongly promote adoption, but would never judge anyone for doing anything differently. To each his own, or so they say. 

My dreams for this wonderful creative outlet, that I have named Blog Full of Dogs are many and I'm not sure if any of it will ever materialize, but for now I hope to keep doing what I'm doing by sharing pictures, stories and tidbits about the dogs that enter my life.
